Woodworking course in Banská Štiavnica
From 25th of September to 29th of September was held in Banská Štiavnica a course and a seminar organized by Obnova s.r.o. "Carpentry and joinery" at the Center for Building Heritage - Central. The course was attended also by our inspectors and skilled carpenters Ing. arch. Július Lišaník and Ing. arch. Andrej Ivan. The first day was devoted to theoretical lectures, including a lecture of our inspector from Trnava - Mgr. Danka Zacharova, PhD. Perhaps the most attractive element of the program was the participation of the famous Czech traditional carpenter Peter Růžička. More information can be found at www.obnova.sk.
Seminar in Humenné
On Aug. 31 a seminar dedicated to the sacred and folk wooden architecture took place at the Vihorlats Museum in Humenne, which was connected with the opening of the exhibition of photographs of wooden temples in Norway. The seminar was organized by the Carpathian Wooden Temples Association. Pro Monumenta was presented in two lectures by Branislav Rezník and Pavol Ižvolt. Interesting themes in the discussion were the comparison of wooden architecture in Norway and Slovakia, or technical or managerial and tourism services.

Traditional Carpentry by Pro Monumenta at the banská Bystrica days
Pro Monumenta presented examples of traditional carpentry at the Banská Bystrica Days. Supporting traditional building crafts is one of our goals for the future direction. Traditional crafts play an irreplaceable role in restoring of monuments and preventive measures. They are also part of our intangible cultural heritage.

The third meeting with our partners from Riksantikvaren.
On April 24-27, we met with our Norwegian friends from the partner organisation Riksantikvaren - Harald Ibenholt, Christian Borhaven and the Director of Foreign Relations, Reidun Vea. On the way from Bratislava to Banská Štiavnica, where we had our base at that time, we "shortened" our visit to the Komárno fortress, which we inspected in 2014. In the course of the next few days, we descended to the mine or went to Hodruša Hámre (also checked before), visited the wooden articular church and the water castle in Hronsek, the best monuments of Kremnica and crossed several historical trusses in Banská Štiavnica. We have presented to the Norwegian partners the achievements of the project but we have also taken over the possibilities fot its continuity in the coming years. And we will continue! The Monument Authority of the Slovak Republic will again implement a predefined project during the next period 2014-2021! We greatly appreciate this award of our work and we look forward to meeting with our Norwegian friends again for about a year - this time in Norway when we try to pass on selected parts of our project experience to our donor partner.
