This year, in the period 19.06-21.06, there were three localities and three monuments chosen: the Krakovany Mannor house (chimney), Tematín Castle and the Evangelical Church in Piešťany. 18th International Course on Wood Conservation Technology
of Preventive Maintenance, (the Monuments Board of the Slovak Republic) sends the
inspector Daniela zacharová to a one
month training stay in the Norwegian capital. In June, Oslo becomes the venue
for the 18th International Course on Timber Conservation Technologies, which is
regularly co-organized by Riksantikvaren, the Norwegian University of Science
and Technology and ICCROM.
The event, led by an international team of specialists, combines / conceives lectures, excursions and a hands-on workshop so that participants from different parts of the world can, in addition to the latest scientific knowledge, also get insights into the different materials, techniques, conditions, the resulting problems, and ways of solving them.
Nomination for the ICOMOS SLovakia prize
The Monumenta - Maintenance Prevention Project was nominated for "National Prize of ICOMOS Slovakia - Heritage for the Future" with several other activities in the field of cultural heritage protection. The award ceremony took place on 20 April 2018 at the Music Hall (chapel) of the Bratislava Castle at 14:00. Prizes were awarded in more than one category.
Presentation in Vilnius
Head of the OPÚD B. Rezník presented Pro monumenta in the conference in Vilnius on November 16th. The conference was prepared by the national grant manager of the EEA grants program on Cultural Heritage and Local Government - Effective Management. He presented the project Pro Monumenta as well as the whole system of implementation of preventive care for immovable cultural monuments. The presentation of the project in the form of a short film and a more detailed discusions met with great enthusiasm among the participants.
Woodworking course in Banská Štiavnica
From 25th of September to 29th of September was held in Banská Štiavnica a course and a seminar organized by Obnova s.r.o. "Carpentry and joinery" at the Center for Building Heritage - Central. The course was attended also by our inspectors and skilled carpenters Ing. arch. Július Lišaník and Ing. arch. Andrej Ivan. The first day was devoted to theoretical lectures, including a lecture of our inspector from Trnava - Mgr. Danka Zacharova, PhD. Perhaps the most attractive element of the program was the participation of the famous Czech traditional carpenter Peter Růžička. More information can be found at www.obnova.sk.
